Lifeless in Revolution
Being an Arab… or is it Middle Easterner?… Point is, being one of them… err, us… you notice how fashionably influenced we are. I probably first noticed that a while back when I came to realize that Hijabs came in Designer fabric, although I still cannot picture Versace sitting there designing one, but I know nothing of fashion beyond blue jeans and a nice plain gray shirt…
And super hero t-shirts, the green lantern one is so cool…
The fashion influence, of course, exceeds mere fabric, just ask the spawns of sushi spots, burger joints, fashion boutiques, specialty bakery’s, and depending on your country non-alcoholic/alcoholic franchises… then you have the toys, the hobbies, the gyms, the malls which are basically fashion cultism by the bulk… Kind of like the Costco of Fashion…
Is it me, or does Santa have this creepy pedophile vibe about him?… Sorry, Christmas is coming up…
2011 carried the most fascinating fad by far, revolutions… Yes, revolutions are what’s in this year, and no self-respecting populace would be seen in the street without one… I mean… what would the neighbors say? That we couldn’t afford a revolution of our own?
And so it was, someone lit himself on fire and just like that sparked the flame of the revolutionary fad… yes, pun intended… country after country followed suit, dictators who ruled with iron fists for thirty and forty years were ousted, prosecuted, humiliated, and shot… stored briefly in freezers and shot again… Even their statues were shoe beaten… you really don’t like someone when you start beating their image with your shoe.
Yes… the malevolent dictators who stood decrepit at eighty years old, with their IV Drips of terror, and heart pacers of tyranny, had to be removed now… because dammit, we had fifty years of this shit and we cannot live another two until they just pop a Viagra and die… Seriously, AIDS tested female bodyguards only?
So the youth took to the streets, armed with purpose, resolve, solidarity and the common reckless heroism that is needed in any of those confrontational situations… you know like when someone takes a grenade for his squad, yes it was brave… but… why didn’t any of his squad-members do so too?… I’m just sayin’…
Yes… they took out to the streets and started the revolution, took over the main streets and squares and within the first few hours they knew they cannot turn back… To give up now and go home was no longer an option, not unless you wanted to disappear quietly into the night and emerge sixty years later senile and drooling…
And our youth, our future, our bright young men and women who are carved of heroism and courage, of determination and hope, toppled over what has terrorized us for decades… and we stood there proud of this accomplishment, turned around and asked them with smiles of hope “So… What’s your political agenda?”
To which they answered “… What’s an agenda?” as they Googled Facebook and tweeted
And then the Islamists chimed in “Oh… don’t you worry about that” as they gave out food to the hungry and starving
Now I’m not sure what fashion trend we will follow in 2012, but I wouldn’t mind anarchy… at least it would make some sense… revolutionary idiots…
