That’s how I felt at the time… (OK fine, All the time)

This is a real resignation letter I had submitted back in 2005 (I did not receive a recommendation letter)

Attention: Human Resources

Dear Brian,

I, Lifeless, hereby submit my resignation as of 18th of February 2005. As per my contract stated both parties may terminate employment effective immediately without prior notice. However, being the nice and well behaved individual that I am, I submit this letter as a prior notice. Please understand though that this is just a formality as my resignation is effective immediately, and therefore, this letter can be considered a notice without a prior.

I avail myself of this opportunity to extend my sincerest thanks for allowing me to be part of this organization and family, but it seems another family has adopted me. I hope you realize that it saddens me to leave this establishment, and that I harbor no negative feelings upon my departure. Yet if I did I would not mention them as I still need a recommendation letter.
